Elegance comes from restraint. Script suits personal accounts, photography and anything handwritten in spirit. Italic serif reads editorial and calm. Small caps and spaced capitals feel like print design — good for a brand name, a job title or a section label inside a bio.
Whatever you choose, use it for one or two lines at most. A bio set entirely in script is genuinely hard to read on a phone, and a decorative first line followed by plain sentences almost always looks better than the reverse.
Two of the most useful styles here barely change the letters at all. Spaced capitals insert a real space between characters, and the wide variants push the letters apart gently. Because the underlying letters are ordinary, the result stays fully readable, fully accessible and safe in any field — while still looking obviously designed.
A single divider or symbol does more than a frame on every line. Try one sparkle before a heading, a mid dot between short items, or a thin ruled line to break a bio into sections. The symbol library below has dividers, brackets and floral marks that work well for this.
Small caps and spaced capitals. They keep the letter shapes people already recognise, so a phone screen renders them cleanly at any size, and they still look distinctly styled next to plain text.
You can, but it is a bad idea on mobile. Script glyphs are narrow and joined, and long lines become tiring. One line of script plus plain supporting text is the reliable pattern.
Each platform ships its own system fonts, so the same character is drawn by a different design. The letters are identical; the drawing is not. Expect small differences in weight and slant.
No. Someone searching for your business name in plain spelling will not match a script version of it. Keep at least one plain-text mention of anything people need to find.
Thin dividers, a single sparkle, mid dots between items, and CJK corner brackets. Avoid stacking ornaments and emoji in the same line — pick one accent and repeat it consistently.
